Marked for Death?

A plan now under consideration by federal officials would allow the killing of hundreds of wolves using helicopters, poison gas and other barbaric means.

Dear Arnold,

Wildlife Services is a program gone rogue.

Despite this summer’s ruling by a federal court to restore Endangered Species Act protections for Greater Yellowstone and Northern Rockies wolves, Wildlife Services agents -- the government’s wildlife killing experts -- are planning to kill hundreds of wolves in the region, including helpless pups in their dens.

Please take action now. Urge President Obama’s head of the Department of Agriculture (which oversees Wildlife Services) to nix the program’s plan to expand their wolf-killing role in Idaho.

Last month, more than 62,000 caring Defenders supporters like you spoke out against this awful plan. But now we're taking our message to the top -- USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack.

Speak out now. Take action.

Thanks to a recent court ruling in our court fight for wolves, these magnificent animals are once more protected under the Endangered Species Act... but you wouldn't know it from looking at the plan Wildlife Services has cooked up for wolves in central Idaho.

It's a proposal that would make Sarah Palin smile. The agency wants to expand their wolf-killing operations, working with Idaho officials to kill up to 80 percent of the wolves in some areas.

Their plan also includes killing entire packs. Their plan includes using helicopters to chase down and kill wolves. And their plan includes gassing helpless wolf pups and their mothers in their dens, surgically sterilizing alpha wolf pairs and more.

Speak out now to stop the out-of-control wolf killing plan -- before the government-sponsored killing starts.

The agency has other, more reasonable options. But rather than helping ranchers co-exist with wolves and other native wildlife with proven non-lethal techniques, Wildlife Services is expanding their role as the nation’s top wolf-killers -- and relying on the lethal approach that helped the program eliminate wild wolves in the Lower 48 United States during the 1940s.

Please take action now to help stop the federal Wildlife Services plan for killing more protected wolves in the Greater Yellowstone and Northern Rockies region.

For the Wild Ones,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife

P.S. The official comment period on this outrageous plan is already closed, and the killing could begin soon. Please take action now and urge federal officials to stop the wolf-killing carnage before it starts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Arnold,
Our nation is at a critical juncture. The voices of extremism and division are out in full force, trumpeting a return to the flawed policies of the past - policies that got us into an economic mess and held our country back.

However, there are those who want to move us in a positive direction. Tarryl Clark has been a voice for fiscal responsibility, bipartisanship, and positive change as a State Senator. Now, she's running to replace one of the most divisive members of Congress - and she can win.

That's why I am asking you to join me in supporting Tarryl Clark for Congress by donating before the September 30 deadline.

We know that it's time to put our country back on the right path - a path where results matter more than headlines and we fix Washington's broken politics. A victory for Tarryl would not only mean that Congress would have a new, powerful voice for families, but also that the special interests would be down another vote.

We can make that happen - but time is running out! September 30th is a critical fundraising deadline, the last big test of the fundraising strength of Tarryl's campaign, and she needs you to help her by donating $10, $25, or $50 now.

Together, we can elect Tarryl Clark and put our country back on the right path.

Will you help her by donating today?

Thank you.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL)
Vice Chair, DCCC

P.S. Thanks to generous supporters like you, Tarryl has the resources necessary to compete and win - but she needs your help by September 30 in order to keep it up!

Edit Report Full View This is health reform From: "Mitch Stewart, BarackObama.com" View Contact To: Arnold schwertman Arnold --

After a century of struggle and a year of debate, health insurance reform became law six months ago today -- and this week, key provisions of the Affordable Care Act take effect.

This is possible only because you -- and millions of Organizing for America supporters and volunteers -- stood up and said, enough. Even when the fight seemed all but lost, we continued to organize, call Congress, knock on doors, and do everything we could to keep reform alive.

But behind these historic changes are real people and real families. Their stories are important reminders that health reform couldn't wait -- and we can't give up on moving this country forward. Too much is at stake.

Meet Patrick, Kay, and Kristin:

Patrick is a single dad in Rockport, Maine. When he lost his job as a boat builder, he lost his health coverage, and paid out of pocket when his 14-year-old daughter required surgery for scoliosis. Pat has since found a new job, and because insurance companies can no longer deny coverage to children on the basis of pre-existing conditions, his daughter Katie is now insured. "If it wasn't for proper medical insurance, we never would have had the doctors she had. I feel like President Obama did it just for us." Now, Pat can take Katie to the doctor without worrying about falling deeper into debt. "It's about time someone, anyone, stood up for the things that mattered." Kay is a small business owner in Evansville, Indiana. Every year she sees premiums soar and searches for more affordable options. "Even with us paying half the premiums, we have employees who cannot afford the health insurance and go without. They feel like they are constantly living on the edge -- hoping that neither they nor their children will face an illness or injury that will bankrupt them." The small business tax credit in the Affordable Care Act will help Kay continue to ensure her employees can get the coverage they need. Kristin is a recent grad living in Scottsdale, Arizona. Last year, she was told that the cost of staying on her parents' plan after graduating would skyrocket to $500 a month. "Staying on my mother's plan would have been a great option now! But that was in the spring of last year, before any health reform had passed." Now, young people like Kristin will be able to remain on their parents' insurance at the same rate until finding work or turning 26 -- eliminating what can be a costly gap in coverage.

Today, we also celebrate an end to some of the worst insurance company abuses, like rescinding coverage when someone needs it most. Those previously considered uninsurable because of a pre-existing condition -- 400,000 Americans -- now have access to insurance through the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan. And all new health plans must now provide free preventive care, like mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, and pre-natal care.

Millions will see expanded benefits -- and more control over the care they receive.

This is real change. And there are stories like these all over America. Check out a few more -- including a video of one woman's surprise call from the President -- at the White House's site:

Dear Arnold,
Today, Michele Bachmann will appear on the presidential preference ballot at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC before jetting off to Miami to speak to the ultra right-wing fringe Taking America Back Conference.

Bachmann is campaigning for candidates throughout the nation. She's got a national PAC. She's visited Iowa multiple times. She's even got a fancy tour bus. It's like my grandma used to tell me: If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, Michele Bachmann is considering running for President.

Check out our latest video - and help us defeat Bachmann now before it's too late!

While Michele Bachmann continues her "Everywhere But Here" tour, Tarryl is working tirelessly and is waging an unprecedented campaign. We've made tens of thousands of voter contacts, set fundraising records, hit the airwaves, and earned support from organizations representing over 100,000 voters in the 6th district.

It's thanks to you that we're in such a strong position heading into the final weeks. You know that a victory over Michele Bachmann here in Minnesota is a victory for the entire nation.

Can you dig deep and contribute $10, $25, or even $50 to beat Bachmann in 2010 - so we don't have to in 2012?

Sincerely,

Zach Rodvold
Campaign Manager
Tarryl Clark for Congress

P.S. While the Miami Dolphins head to Minnesota to play the Vikings this weekend, Michele Bachmann heads to Florida to play to the crowds. That's not what she was elected to do! Help us put an end to Bachmann's do-nothing career by contributing today. Thanks!

Arnold --

When we elected President Obama, Democrats made a choice to embrace the fight for change that matters.

We renewed our focus on organizing alongside everyday Americans, growing more inclusive than ever before.

We took on the special interests, opposed their agenda -- and we are delivering results for the people of this country.

We are working to move America forward.

That's why we are introducing a new look for Democrats to match this message -- a change that amplifies our focus on renewing the foundations that make this country great.

We're launching an updated website, filled with innovations that will better connect our supporters with candidates, state parties, and one another.

We want all this work to be a visible reminder of our commitment to build a better America for everyone.

To show that this commitment is one shared by Americans across the country, we're sending out thousands of free bumper stickers -- to help people put their support on display.

Can we send one to you?

Change is the inescapable driver of history in the United States. Being a Democrat means meeting the challenges of changing times so that all Americans can prosper.

From suffrage to Social Security, civil rights to the minimum wage, rural electrification to health reform, Democrats have renewed the foundations of this country again and again to help Americans from all walks of life get ahead.

We're continuing to work for change that matters today.

We have brought the American economy back from the brink of collapse and reformed a health care system that was broken. We won fights for fair pay and credit card reform. We reined in a financial system that was out of control and delivered the toughest consumer protections ever enacted.

We've launched an unprecedented effort to win the fall elections so we can continue this work, and we're using every tool we have to win this fight -- including a website that empowers supporters like never before.

Spreading our message is a major part of this effort, and we need your help.

The more of us who put these stickers in visible places, the stronger message we'll send about our support for Democrats this November. Get your sticker, then tell your friends:

Edit Report Wed, September 15, 2010 11:02:08 AM My challenge for Michele BachmannMichele Bachmann From: Tarryl Clark Add to Contacts To: Arnold schwertman Dear Arnold, Michele Bachmann wants to talk fiscal responsibility?
As someone who ran a statewide organization for seven years, I know what it's like to meet a payroll and a bottom line. I've voted for balanced budgets that included deep cuts - budgets that held taxes down for over 95% of Minnesotans.
And when Minnesota faced record deficits, I cut my own compensation and budget in the Minnesota Senate, because I believe in leading by example.
Today, I challenged Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to do the same.
And tomorrow, I will issue that challenge in our new TV ad - see it here first!
In 2008, when our nation faced the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann increased her office budget and expenses on the taxpayer's dime. She spends more taxpayer dollars on campaign-style mailings and radio ads than any Minnesota Member of Congress. She even spends more taxpayer money on self-promoting media staff than she does on legislative staff.
That's why I am issuing a challenge to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann today. It's one thing to talk the talk when it comes to fiscal responsibility, but I've actually walked the walk. I'm proposing that Michele Bachmann - and all Members of Congress - cut their pay by 5% and keep it frozen until the budget is balanced.
Make sure Congresswoman Michele Bachmann hears my challenge to cut her pay by contributing today.
It's time for Congresswoman Bachmann to start practicing what she preaches.
Sincerely,

Tarryl Clark
P.S. Another week, another new attack ad from the Bachmann campaign. Help us keep holding her accountable by contributing today!

My challenge for Michele Bachmann
From:
Tarryl Clark
Add to Contacts
To:
Arnold schwertman

Dear Arnold,

Michele Bachmann wants to talk fiscal responsibility?

From Tarryl Clark

Tue, September 14, 2010 9:48:57 AMBachmann's deceit
From: "Zach Rodvold, Friends of Tarryl Clark" Add to Contacts
To: Arnold schwertman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Arnold,
For nearly three weeks now, at a price tag exceeding $500,000, Michele Bachmann has been running negative ads attacking Tarryl Clark over an initiative Bachmann herself once claimed to support.

You might say Bachmann was for it before she was against it.

Can you help us keep Michele Bachmann honest by contributing to Tarryl Clark today?

Bachmann is using the Minnesota Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to attack Tarryl, who voted to put the measure on the ballot and let voters decide whether they wanted to raise the state's sales tax a fraction of a percent in order to fund clean water and land conservation efforts. The amendment was supported by dozens of hunting, fishing and other outdoors groups.

And, at least in 2008, it was publicly supported by Bachmann herself, as reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The measure passed overwhelmingly - including in Minnesota's 6th District, where it got 53% of the vote, racking up 30,000 more votes than Bachmann herself received that year. No surprise, then, that she would have wanted people to think she favored it.

Now, Bachmann is using the measure to attack Tarryl Clark. Last week, a spokesperson for her campaign said she "never" supported it. Either Michele Bachmann lied to sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts in 2008 or she is flip-flopping now.

Whatever the case may be, residents of the 6th District deserve better.

Bachmann's ads have been judged "false," "misleading," "wrong," and a "distortion" by independent fact checkers. But that hasn't stopped Bachmann, who continues to put big money behind her deceitful advertising campaign.

Don't let her get away with it.

Help us hold Bachmann accountable with a donation of any amount today.

Sincerely,

Zach Rodvold
Campaign Manager
Tarryl Clark for Congress

P.S. - There's no doubt that Bachmann's next attack ad will be out soon. Help us stay competitive on the airwaves with a donation today. Every little bit helps!
